Obituary for Robert A. Whiteman

Robert A. Whiteman
Dec. 9, 1947 – Oct. 21, 2016
Robert A. Whiteman, 68, Altoona, passed away on Thursday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Altoona, son of Robert L. and Rosella M. (Yon) Whiteman.
Surviving are his loving wife, Twyla L. (Buchanan) Whiteman; seven children: Robert A. Jr. (Wendy) of Bellwood, Jolene Bowmaster and Randy (Michelle) both of Butler, Ryan (Misty) of Wichita, Kan., Shawn Richardson in Texas, Scott Richardson of Altoona and James Stever in Virginia; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three siblings: Raymond W. of Hollidaysburg and Reida Carper and Rosalie James, both of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ronald L.
Robert served as a technical sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Unter Uns and the Swiss Club and a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016. The committal will be private to the family. Services will also be provided by the Blair County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to Grace Bible Church, 164 Laurel Lane, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
