May 14, 1923 - April 10, 2017
Helen S. McCloskey, 93, Altoona, passed peacefully on Monday morning at her residence.
She was born in Lock Haven, daughter of the late D. Ford and Sara (Wilson) Somerville. She married Neil McCloskey, who preceded her in death on March 18, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters: Susan (William) Brachat and Shawn (Kirk) Leidy; a son, Wes (Margie) McCloskey; five grandchildren: Michael Brachat, Michelle Johnson, Kadin Leidy, Wesley McCloskey II and Tyler McCloskey; and a brother, R. Dean Somerville.
She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick McCloskey; and a brother, John Somerville.
Helen was a 1941 graduate of Lock Haven High School, and she retired as a sales auditor for J.C. Penney.
She enjoyed spending time and doing activities with her friends at Graystone Court, Altoona. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star 290, Altoona Chapter.
Friends will be received from noon until the 1 p.m. funeral service, Thursday, April 13, 2017, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, Pastor Charles L. Baughman officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
