May 23, 1932 – Dec. 26, 2017
Joyce E. Brumbaugh, 85, Duncansville, passed away Tuesday, at the home of her friend, Christine Dillman.
Joyce was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late James and Gladys (Pyle) Butts. On March 5, 1955, married William “Bill” Brumbaugh, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1999.
Surviving are a daughter, Janelle Weaver and husband, Douglass, of Duncansville; two sons: James C. Brumbaugh and wife Karen and W. Brian Brumbaugh and wife, Brenda, both of Duncansville; three grandchildren: Adam Weaver, Jessica and Joshua Brumbaugh; a sister, Jane Kilgore and brother-in-law David; and special friends and caregivers: Christine and Duck Dillman.
She was preceded in death by a grandson- Zachary Weaver.
Joyce was a 1950 graduate of Martinsburg High School and graduated in 1954 from Juniata College with a degree in home economics.
She was an active member of the 28th Street Church of the Brethren, Altoona, where she was a church Deacon and a member of the Ladies Aid Quilting Group. Joyce was the past president of the Altoona Woman’s Club
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, painting, camping, sewing, spending time with her Bull Terrier dogs and especially her family.
At the convenience of the family, all services will be private. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to 28th Street Church of the Brethren, 2800 Union Ave., Altoona, PA 16602.
