Mathias J. “Sie” Hollen, 76, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Friday at his residence.

He was born in, Van Omer, son of the late William and Neomi Hollen.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Nancy (Hockenberry) Hollen; a daughter, Linda L. Hollen of Altoona; a son, John S. (Sally) Hollen of Altoona; two grandchildren: Ethan Hollen of Altoona and Elizabeth (David) Miller of Altoona; four great-grandchildren: Selena Hammel, Angel and Mathew Miller, and Athena Hollen; two sisters: Janet Brink and Emily Hamilton, both of Fallentimber; and a brother, David (Maryann) Hollen of Cresson.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William Lynn Hollen.

Sie was a coal miner for many years and worked as a truck driver for Irvin Trucking, Tyrone.

He was a member of Assembly of God in Pinecroft, and he enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park, Pastor Kathy Colebank officiating. Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
